Well it took me a while, but I think I have finally found two commercials that I might write about for the essay. I'm not for sure though because
I have a hard time making up my mind. I chose a funny commercial, "Wassup" because when that commercial came out I remember everyone one doing
it. The second commercial I chose was the E*Trade commercial beacuse I feel baby's are the new trend. All types of videos and popular commercials use babies
because they are so cute and they just catch your attention. I am still skeptical about using these and I think yalls advice would be helpful.
Mmm, I was sort of torn between the two ads. I really like both of them. However, I think that the eTrade ad might provide more to work with for your essay, just because I think it might present more visual rhetoric and also use more of the rhetorical appeals. But, I do think that both are going to be good choices regardless. Good luck on your essay!
ReplyDeleteI think both could work, too. I guess the thing to do is figure out which one allows you to make more of an argument for your essay. Remember that your argument is about how the ad is making an argument and whether or not the ad is working. How does it reach an audience? Who is being targeted? Consider the use of image, character, color, music, etc. just be sure to keep your focus on the rhetorical decisions within the ad rather than the content of the ad.

I liked both of them. They were both really funny. I do think however that the baby one would be better for you to choose. It seems like that one would have mroe information that you could use. It also seems easier to evaluate. It is your choice:-) Goodluck:-)
